And To A Very Little Bit

About Mad And The Squad

Simply put, MR MAD was my nickname when I was on the Prodigy Classic service.   It was selected for me by my loving wife, Carol.   On the brighter side for me, it is one of the nicer pet names that she has come up with for me.   Other pet names include; The Brains, The Genius, $#!±head, Lunatic, Mad Scientist, Tommy Torch;  I won't tell you the names that she calls me when she's angry with me.

I was born on November 24, 1939.   That makes me just about 746 months old at the start of the year 2004 for those of you who are having trouble with your math calculation !!

I am currently about 1.79 meters tall and shrinking a bit due to age.   I have brown hair (most of it, and most of that is still brown) and brown eyes (the 4 of them).   For those of you who may really care, my weight would be approximately 27.4 pounds if I were on the Moon or about 411.25 pounds if I were on Jupiter.   On the Sun there would be a weight factor based on energy as I was rapidly vaporized, then POOFED - zilch - nada.   On Pluto, BTW, if I could find a scale to stand on, I just might register a whopping 4.93 pounds.   I reside on the 3rd rock from the Sun where scales register weights that are less than comical to many of us.

To any and all who may be wondering where the free time comes from for formatting recipes and maintaining this Web Site, let me say that it didn't come without a price.   I have acute emphysema and can't really do much of anything else.   I would much rather be gainfully employed and out in the workplace amongst humans for 5 to 6 days a week rather than tethered to my oxygen concentrator and its meager radius confines with only my computer for company.   You know, I really did some great things workwise, but never realized it until I was no longer able to be a part of the everyday workforce.   In my last job at Hampden Engineering (where I was finally taken down by my illness) I was involved in all sorts of great and inovative projects.   I would, hovever, have to concede that the highlight of my work career was in the very late '60s and early '70s when I worked at Hamilton Standard (known today as United Technologies) in their "Space and Life" division on a product called SIMAS an acronym for Simultaneous Isometric Myocardial Augmentation System.   It was a computer-controlled hydraulic-actuated heart-assist pump of sorts which helped lead the way into the age of heart transplant technology.   One of the SIMAS units has been credited with saving the life of a dentist in Canada who was at death's door until the family agreed to try SIMAS as a last resort (Canadian laws or whatever governing this type of treatment were/are a lot different than those in the US).

I'm married (and have been for the past 326 months so far) to a marvelous woman (she made me say that) whose age I am not allowed to divulge.   Together we have a wonderful 264 month-old son, William is his name, who in turn has a dumb dog named Butch and a vicious cat named Princess.   I also have 3 children from a previous mariage.   Joe, the oldest, is 486 months old followed by my daughter, his sister, Lori who is currently 472 months old.   Finally, Stephen joined his older brother and sister in this world 447 months ago.

Come on now, guys.   You really didn't expect to read ALL about me over here, did you ??   What else would you like to know, anyway ??
